Location! It’s right next to the beach, no view from inside the apartment but you can hear the waves

Sadly we didn’t enjoy our stay. We arrived when it was dark and couldn’t find number 10, needing to ask the restaurant for help. ‘Le Chalet Bleu’ is the sign to look out for. And while we were aware that we would need to leave the apartment clean, it was not clear this was for the use of the next guests, nor that the previous guests had cleaned for us; which we aren’t really okay with. The charge of our one night stay was not low enough to justify this lack of host cleaning. We are very considerate guests by nature, and always ensure we leave accommodation in a good state without being asked to do so, but were uncomfortable with instructions such as to clean the shower drain and door knobs for a less than 12 hour stay. We know this is potentially intended for longer staying guests, but it felt less like a welcome and more like a warning, so we ended up barely touching or using anything.
