I had a hunch before coming here that this would be special, and it definitely was, exceeding my expectations in every single way. Let's start with the house itself. It's hard to put into words how amazing it is... The attention to detail inside the house; so many amazing pieces of furniture, like the table downstairs. I was here alone but I could imagine myself having a very cosy dinner night with friends or family there, with some candles and board games! Very comfortable beds... really, the house has everything you need. Everything about the house just radiates history, which I love. It was renovated and kept in the old style, with real volcanic stone. And then of course, a gem of a garden, and what a view... Unfortunately it was raining quite a bit during my stay so I wasn't able to sit outside as much as I would have liked, but having my breakfast there, with the view of the hills and the ocean and Sao Jorge in the distance, 10/10. The location of the house itself is great too - especially if you love exploring all corners of Pico, and especially if you love the peace and quiet. But what I loved most... the host!!! Unfortunately I didn't get to meet Pablo, but Anabela really is THE BEST! On my first night, she welcomed me after a long day of travel with a bowl of soup and we chatted a bit under the full moon, drinking some spirits, and she told me a bit about the history of the house (totally recommend asking about it!). She gave me some great off-grid recommendations for the island, all of which I loved. She even took me to one of her current go-to spots to try the amazing food there! As a solo female traveler, I totally felt seen and supported by my host. It's safe to say that I would totally recommend staying at Casas da Figueira. It's an experience you don't want to miss :)

Beautiful old house with the ocean view with the best housekeeper Anabela. We found everything we needed, it was very comfortable and we appreciate the opportunity to taste Anabela’s seafood! Many many thanks, Pico is exciting and wonderful!

La casa è bellissima e pulita. Il giardino ha una vista meravigliosa, è stato un privilegio cenare e fare colazione in questo paradiso. Prainha è il nostro posto preferito nell'isola di Pico. Abbiamo passato dei giorni di grande bellezza, Anabela e Martim sono stati i migliori padroni di casa che si possano incontrare. Grazie di tutto.
