Marianna Stoltz House

This historic home is well cared for and expertly decorated with a true understanding of style and scale and the daring of old and new, high and low to coexist without drawing attention to itself. That takes true skill and Holland has achieved that impressively well. The breakfast was simple, elegant, delicious, high quality food which was left out for us, just as we prefer...no small talk or fussing over anything we could reach for ourselves or figure out by observing. It was well presented but unpretentious...truky Continental. It was a joy to start our day there and take our time at the table. The room was made up with an abundance of good linens and tastefully arranged pillows. The bed was veey comfortable for me. And salon soaps made up for the small aging but clean bathroom. Given more time, we'd have enjoyed wearing the crisp white robes a bit! The scent of the signature candles is lovely and well named, "Do Not Disturb". I wish there was more room in my suitcase for one which was available for purchase, along with drinks on the vintage bar cart in the sitting room, again, with the ideal set up as an Honor Bar, with a trust which adds to the comfort and experience curated there.

The creaking stairs and the street noise projecting upward frim the street to our cosy room were unexpectedly loud. I don't like making noise in a shared residence so each cracking step shot through me with regret. But I don't think it was found inside the rooms, though. It was just hereditary conditioning. Another reason I wish I had bought that soothing candle! The street noise can't be helped but maybe you'd bring earplugs with you if you sleep lightly. But I slept well and deeply without them! The location was nice, and like all of Spokane, not far from anything. We loved our stay, wrapped by music and the deep shady porch of the Marianna Stolz House.

Unterkunft ist sehr gepflegt und ansprechend. Es gab genügend Parkplätze direkt an der Straße. Ein-/Auschecken war sehr angenehm.

Zimmer recht klein und hellhörig. Treppe quietscht sehr laut. Leider haben andere Gäste sehr spät in der Nacht eingecheckt und waren dabei sehr laut im Flur.

AC was just inches of the bed- right in your ear NOISY & blowing in your face. 1 plug for electronics. Neighbor had a college party till late at night!! Sparse Breakfast
