Nomad inn Tiwi

The managee Farhan is really one of the kindest and sweetest persons we ever met. He treated us like guest at a homeplace and was always available and engaged. You can feel that hospitality is coming from the deepest of his heart. The room was very cosy and had so nice decorating with a generous private outside sitting area and a spacious bathroom and coffe facilities as well as a fridge. The pool is nestled in a lush tropical garden (as the whole boutique hotel) and a real plus at sweating hot temperatures. The breakfast is traditional, tasty and plenty (set omani breakfast plate plus option for toast with jam. Or honey). Notes: the Hotel lies scenic in the wadi nestled in the rock walls. It might be a bit difficult if you have any walking disabilities as it is not fully barrier free. It is called Nomad Inn (Guesthouse) and that is what you find but at a high level with add on amenities! Please do not expect a 5 star international hotel chain standard in a traditional wadi Inn! There is no restaurant at the hotel. Contact them to prebook a delivery dinner (at least one day in advance) or follow Farhans recommendations for restaurant (you need a car to go to tiwi town, app. 10 minutes). Despite the Iran conflict Oman is safe to travel, we never felt any discomfort so far as well the flight was easy . The people are exceptionally nice and helpful and the country is just amazing!

Nothing! We wished to stay for 2 nights as it was so peaceful. And to explore wadi tiwi (unfortunately it was not enough time). To explore wadi tiwi it is app. 30 min. Drive up to Mibat village. Be prepared that the road is very steep an narrow. A small 4x4 is definitely recommend and you should be a save driver. A big 4x4 (like toyota land cruiser) might be challenging. Please also respect local culture while dressing. We found thin loose cotton clothes (light long skirts, trousers and shirts) as a good compromise of not too hot but appropriate.

Food was homemade, great flavor and a decent variety of options. There is plenty of food as well. Loved the breakfast. The pool is just beautiful. The whole area has a cozy jungle look and feel.

Bathrooms could use a bit better cleaning and even maintenance as the shower was a bit cloughted and the toilet seat cover couldn't remain open.

Friendly & helpful staff.

They have built a new complex 2km down the road, which we weren’t told that we’d be staying in until just before we arrived via message on Booking. The new complex still feels unfinished and somewhat like a building site. It is not as nice as the original property, especially the pool the area. Both properties were not as peaceful as we hoped. The new property is near the main road and so has Road noise whilst outside the old property, there is a drain cover that makes a crashing sound every time anyone drives past.
