This was such a lovely place to stay for a couple of nights! Ideal location, comfy bed, and it feels very secure and hidden away. Super easy to get into. Only complaint is at nighttime there’s no soundproofing to the street above, there were a good few drunk people wandering around which is no problem, but you can hear everything happening on the street very clearly, which made it hard to ignore. The pull out bed isn’t very comfortable, springy mattress, so one member ended up sleeping on the sofa itself. If neither of those things bother you, I would definitely recommend staying here!

Had an amazing stay at the servants quarters and it was almost faultless. Spacious, clean, amazingly decorated and designed and very well equipped. The only two things marked as a 4 instead of a 5 were not enough to detract from a great stay, but more for feedback and consideration. The large tap over the bath was leaking and started to create a puddle behind the bath which just needs looking at as it could damage the floor more than anything. And with it being under ground, if you were a light sleeper, the noise of people walking above could be an issue but I’d just recommend picking another one of the lovely rooms above ground level! Customer service was great too as I only found this room late on and changed our original room booked at late notice. I will definitely be back and have already recommended to several people! Really good location- only 10 minute walk from most hotspots. The only downfall was the condition of the sofa- it was dirty and overused. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable to sleep on and gave me hip pain. The actual bed and was comfortable and rest of the flat was immaculate. Great facilities and clean

Beautifully presented accommodation in a great location which was totally spoiled by a few points. Firstly, the awful smell of drains which had been unsuccessfully camouflaged by several air fresheners throughout the apartment. Secondly, due to the fact that the basement bedroom is directly under the street, the only hope to a good nights sleep is by using ear plugs to block out the constant noise from above and a sleep mask to block out the continuous bright light coming through the glass bricks in the ceiling. Thirdly , the small terrace was nothing like the pictures, it was very damp, dirty and hadn’t even been swept. We would never return and cannot recommend staying here as there are far nicer (and cheaper) places to stay in beautiful York.
