Clive provided a lovely welcome pack that included a platter of meats and cheeses, wine, fruit……and of course, Madeira cake. Bedrooms are spacious with AC and beds very comfortable. The new en suite is great. The other two bedrooms are serviced by a large bathroom so plenty of space. Downstairs the lounge and dining areas are massive with floor to ceiling windows giving great views. The kitchen is reasonably well appointed so you’ll be able to rustle up a decent meal. There is a choice of two washing machines and two dryers so no problem keeping clothes fresh. The pool is lovely as is the outside area with sun beds, dining table, chairs, patio furniture and built in BBQ. It’s a 15 minute walk down to the town for restaurants and the beach….. due to the hill it’s a little longer on the return so a car is a very good idea. There is a bus stop not far away but service is a bit limited. If you’re a walker there’s a fantastic walk up the valley sets right from the villa along a levada with decent bar at the end to rehydrate. The view from all areas is great, out over the sea. All in all this villa has what could be called the ‘Wow’ factor. As you enter you’re met with airy space and sense of the magnificent.

This is a personal point. I’m not keen on coffee pods and the provision of a cafetière or filter coffee pot would be great ….. I like my coffee strong. Somewhere to hang coats would be good but I can understand this might negatively impact the great impression as you open the front door.

Amazing view and swimming pool. Bedrooms were comfortable and had a/c. Living areas had lots of different seating options.

No barbecue tools, doors didn’t open in living room

de grootte van de woning, de fijne sfeer die er hing en het fijne contact met de eigenaar en de beheerder van de woning. De woning was van alle gemakken voorzien en zeer schoon. Aan alles was gedacht!
