This property had an excellent location right in Redwoods National Park. It’s right near the scenic drive and many good hikes in the park. The name isn’t a misnomer, either. There are elk all over the adjacent meadow!
The room was clean and well-appointed.
I checked in after hours (front desk personnel not present) but this was a pretty straightforward process.
While the check-in process via phone was fine, I attempted to get a late checkout for the next day. The reason is so I could hike and not have to worry about all my luggage and stuff in the car. He said I’d have to check with the housekeeping staff at 9 in the morning when they arrived, so this defeated that purpose.
