Gizz Suites

Liked · Very spacious and comfortable apartment. The view over the marina and yacht clubs is spectacular. Kitchen was fully stocked and the beds were comfortable. Ample street parking. Gizz Suites is about 1km from old town Fethiye, but there are some wonderful restaurants very close by and right on the water.

Gizz Suites is beautiful, but is a good distance from Calis Beach, where a couple of our excursions departed. The bathrooms could benefit from some (inexpensive) maintenance.

Extremely spacious, clean, well-equipped and had a lovely view

No coffee provided for the coffee machine, only some instant coffee sachets. Travelling by foot also meant tackling a steep hill to return to the accommodation.

The hosts were polite, responsive and always willing to help. They also kindly allowed us a late check-out. The location is great if you have a car: it’s quiet, while everything you need is still nearby. You can also walk to the cafés using the steps nearby. The bed is large, the air conditioning works well, and the apartment is equipped with useful basics such as drinking water, dishwasher tablets, paper towels and laundry detergent.

The main issue was the extreme dampness. Absolutely everything felt damp: clothes stored in the wardrobes, towels that simply wouldn’t dry, and even the drawers had an unpleasant musty smell. The floors were very cold, there were visible signs of water damage on many of the walls, and there was mold in the bathroom. A heated towel rail would make a big difference. Some of the doors seemed to have swollen from the humidity, so they were difficult and very noisy to close. I would also be careful with the locks, as they can be difficult to open again from the inside. Also, be careful when walking around after dark: we saw wild boars in the street several times. Finally, use the safe provided and don’t leave cash or other valuables unsecured.

The furniture was functional, and the interior was in acceptable condition — not luxurious, but decent. The Wi-Fi issue was eventually resolved after a few days, which we appreciated.

There were many issues that made our stay uncomfortable: • Mold in the sink, poor drainage in one shower (water never drained). • Cockroaches appeared four times, including one near the bed. • Rusty drying rack stained our clothes. • Windows were dirty, and there was no real sea view — only rooftops and laundry. • Pool was non-functional despite being listed. • No cleaning or restocking — only a few toilet rolls and minimal laundry detergent for 10 days. • Internet didn’t work for 2–3 days and was only fixed after repeated messages. • A large crack in the bedroom balcony door, which wasn’t shown in photos. • Remote and isolated location with almost nothing around. No nearby beaches or places to walk. Only one café within walking distance. • At night being on the ground floor near an open pathway and with barking dogs around, though my partner feel unsafe.
