Redroom-house

We were on a road trip around Sardinia and stayed in several different accommodations along the way. One of the main reasons we chose this place was the combination of relatively easy parking and good access to the center of Alghero, which was only about a 10–15 minute walk away. We were lucky to find a parking space directly in front of the building, which was very convenient for us.

The biggest surprise was that the toilet seat was completely missing when we arrived. After informing the host, we were told that it had broken in the morning and that someone could come later in the evening (after 8 pm) to replace it. We did not feel comfortable with someone entering the room while we were away, so we agreed to leave it as it was. We would have found it more professional to be informed about the issue before arrival and, considering the inconvenience, perhaps to be offered some kind of compensation or discount. This did not happen, although after we raised the issue ourselves, the host eventually at least agreed not to charge us the tourist tax (€4). Sound insulation in the room was very poor. We could hear normal conversations as well as sounds such as running water or flushing the toilet from the neighboring room, which was not particularly comfortable. The accommodation is located in a regular residential apartment building, where one apartment appears to have been renovated and converted into several separate guest rooms with private bathrooms. The surrounding neighborhood was not particularly attractive, although we had no actual problems there. The overall cleanliness and maintenance felt rather average, and some of the furniture already showed quite noticeable signs of wear. For a simple overnight stay in Alghero, it was just okay.
