The location was great. Located a few minutes walk away from University of Southampton, restaurants and bus stop to city centre. Great and quite friendly staff. Kettle, coffee, tea and milk sachets provided in the room, that was quite amazing. Access to kitchen provided for a microwave and washing utensils. I did not ask about fridge access.

Provide extra bed sheets and blanket to allow visitors staying a few more days to change. If a washing machine can be made available and allow cooking for visitors staying a bit longer, the experience would even be more superb. Otherwise, I cannot complain for sure.

Very convenient place to stay for University of Southampton open day. We were met on arrival by the owner's nephew, who was very friendly and helpful. Free parking on the street outside (evenings and weekends I think). The rooms were a generous size and the beds comfortable. Toilet and bath are shared , but that was completely clear up front and given that as a family we took both of the guest rooms and the owner was nowhere to be seen, we effectively had the facilities to ourselves. Tea and coffee facilities in the bedrooms and use of the fridge, microwave and toaster etc in the kitchen.

If I had to be super picky, the decor and furnishings are a bit tired, but really wasn't a problem and did the job perfectly well. Light sleepers might want an eye mask and/or ear plugs.

we arrived in the middle of the night after 6 hours delay at the ferryport at Dover contact with the mansion was good when I informed we would be very late and as we asked how to enter the room when everybody sleeps we left quietly befor check out and continued our travel through south england
