Super clean! Nice small appliances and well stocked kitchen. Very comfortable kitchen. Host was great and quick to respond. Would recommend and stay there again!

Beautiful house, impeccably decorated and well appointed! We love The Forgotten Coast and Summer Camp Beach is right in the middle of "Old Florida". Something about daily morning/evening walks on the beach with our dogs really presses our "reset" button. Low tide exposes the sand bars and you can explore a couple hundred yards into the bay where the horseshoe and hermit crabs scavenge. Squadrons of pelicans glide effortlessly down the beach just above the pines. Summer Camp has a nice private pool, but if you're looking for a "sun bathing" beach St George Island isn't far. The scenic 50min drive follows the coast through Carabelle and Eastpoint and feels more like 15min as you take in the sights. Apalachicola is over that way too. Old Fashion's in a rocking chair on The Gibson Inn's front porch is a rite of passage. St James Bay golf course is 10min away for the masochistics in your family. Stunningly beautiful. Bring LOTS of balls. Civic Brewing in Sopchoppy is also 10min away. Good beer, great pizza and usually some live music out back. Tropical Trader Shrimp Co is 15min away in Panacea. Come hungry. Leave with to-go boxes. Paddling or inner tubing the Wakulla River is mandatory. TNT will set you up. In a nutshell, Old Florida is about natural beauty and old world charm. Parasailing, putt-putt golf and outlet malls are "new florida". If you can appreciate that, then think of "A Step Away" at Summer Camp like a Marriott or Hilton right in the middle of Old Florida.

We had an amazing, relaxing time! We loved this house, and will definitely be back! This was the perfect place for our family of four and a dog. We cooked almost all of our meals and ate on the screened in back porch. The front porch was so peaceful for a morning cup of coffee. The short walk to the beach is easy and we loved the secluded feeling the beach provides. Roger was an excellent host! He checked in with us to make sure everything was perfect (and it was!) and was very kind. Wish we could have stayed longer, but looking forward to the next time!

This home was an absolute gem. Tucked away in a quiet, secluded beach community, it offered the perfect escape for rest and relaxation. The house itself is beautifully done with a coastal beach vibe that feels both stylish and welcoming. It was extremely comfortable and thoughtfully decorated, making it feel like a true home away from home.The kitchen was especially impressive—gracious, well laid out, and perfect for cooking and gathering. Every detail felt intentional and well cared for. The peaceful surroundings and proximity to the beach made our stay even more special.Excellent communication with the very accommodating host. If you’re looking for a serene, beautiful retreat in Carabelle, Florida, this place is hard to beat. We would absolutely stay here again.
