Came down for the weekend, the place was simple, modern and inviting! Spent one evening in the lobby playing card games for a few hours. Plenty of seating area and they even had a couple of foosball tables. Wish it was warm enough to enjoy the outdoor patio seating but it looks like we'll just have to come back this summer! We noticed on a safety aspect of things that there were not only exit signs on the ceiling level of the wall, but also the lower area of the wall in each hallway. I'm sure it's not the only hotel in the area with these but it is the first one ever we've seen these at. Being firefighters, we give kudos to this hotel for keeping safety of the guests in mind! The room was small but it was fine for the two of us. No microwave (the lobby one was of 24/7 access) but there was a fridge. There wasn't a closet in our room but there were hooks and also a rod with hangers. The king bed was comfortable and the shower was hot! Love the complimentary soaps and shampoo/conditioner. They smelled SO good. The only downfall in our opinion was that our room door didn't quite latch unless we forced it shut, whether that was due to it being heavy or if something was mechanically wrong. The deadbolt didn't seem to be matching up with the hole in the door jamb but the secondary lock up higher worked just fine. Overall, it was a great place to stay and we will be back!

The young man who checked us in made us feel welcome. He was chatty and sweet. Said Canadians are his favourite lol. I believe his name was Preston. Give him a raise! 😉. The only thing was I didn’t find the mattress very comfortable. But clean, safe, and the breakfast was good.

easy access to and from highway

This hotel was immaculate! The staff was so friendly and very attentive. Complimentary breakfast was as good as any other chain hotel. Fresh pancakes , fruit. And other assortments. Plenty of food & shopping near by. About 40 mins to downtown Detroit.

It was clean and staff was nice. Our power went out and needed a place to stay. It suitable for our needs. They didn’t have a microwave in room was the only thing I didn’t like but overall I would give it 4 stars.

Terrible beds, paper thin walls. Fake hardwood floors are so loud.

When I arrived at 8 p.m. to check, the front door was locked. When the clerk finally opened the door, he immediately went on a tirade about how unsafe the area was and how there was constant crime and cars getting broken into in the parking lot and "random people" walking into the lobby. Never apologized for the door being locked, welcomed me or even said hello. Terrible way to start a stay. Then, The room was extremely noisy all night. Constant booming of noise all night long.

Clean and quiet

Stay overall was great. Really amped the complimentary water given at check in since water is hard to come by when staying in hotels. Hotel was a bit far from where we wanted to stay

The front desk clerk was very friendly. The hotel was very clean including the room. Everything was great.

The Tru hotel is a new hotel, opened earlier this year. Our room was clean, simple, everything we would want. The breakfast buffet was good, a typical hotel breakfast.

Staff is really friendly and the rooms and very clean!

I know its new and not open very long but i loved the rooms (no carpet). Beds very comfortable. Breakfast good choices. Will definitely stay again when in the area

great check in to an obviously very new building very clean and quiet except the ac a bit noisy going on and off. did not try the breakfast as out of eggs and several items and staff did not seem to be in a hurry to refill other than that we loved it and will be back again

The room was clean, but way too small for us. This was our first stay here. It is ok for one person, but not necessarily for 2 people.

The front desk personnel were over the top..., friendly, informative, helpful, great experience overall. We highly recommend this hotel for a stay.

Wow, what a place. Very clean and near dining areas.Twelve Oaks Mall. Huge mall. Staff was very friendly. Would go there in a heart beat.
