The unique styling of the place is really well done - it’s obvious that a lot of time and thought has gone into the curation of the Castle Vlad theme! And aside from all that, it was clean, really comfortable and homely with everything you could need. Location is excellent too, very close to central York - either a 25minute walk (which we preferred to do) or a short hop on the bus. Would definitely stay again, thank you Camelia

A great treat .. as a host I was pleasantly surprised by the little extra touches

The atmosphere of the rooms
The garden at the back and the front garden let the property down... Also there was nowhere to sit inside to have a meal.
Also there was nowhere to sit outside in this very hot weather

The place was really fun, from the moment we arrived there were so many things to check out and a lot of thought had gone into the small details in terms of the themed aspect of the accommodation. The location worked for us, although not right in town it was a chilled out 15-20 minute walk or there were several buses that you could also use.
We found the beds quite uncomfortable, a bit saggy/soft and squeaky. The bathroom was also quite small, the shower cubicle was difficult to move around in. What it had in personality it perhaps lacked in practicality.
