Frater Yucatán Hotel

I love that the rooms have soaking tubs and hammocks for lounging. The check in process is easy and the front desk workers are so kind and accommodating even during an uncomfortable situation during the storm. The beds and bedding is so comfortable and I love the room darkening shades. I could have slept forever. I love that they have a coffee maker and mini fridge and water in the rooms. Also it was very kind to upgrade me although I was really looking forward to that balcony room and instead got a ground floor room with a whole living area I never used.

I was sad to see there was no more breakfast included and tables by the pool. Looks like they are redoing part of that area. The other issue was when there was a bad rainstorm I have about 10 cockroaches crawl under my front door that I had to kill. An employee heard me as I was killing them all and I opened the front door and helped kill a few and swept them all out of the room with his shoe and then I had to clean all of the body parts and mess off the floor using toilet paper. Putting a small rubber sweeper at the bottom of the door would keep them out. I understand that it is the tropics but it was a lot. Only one roll of toilet paper was provided and I ended it right as I was leaving. The cute ledge that holds to coffee maker and cups does not have a plug. I had to move the coffee table to a plug and bring the coffee maker over to make coffee.

Very Clean and room with bath was very well laid out; nice size and jacuzzi was fun to use.

They try to charge us 600 pesos... 25% of the nightly rate for checking out 30minutes late. Staff were young girls that just kept repeating the corporate policy and did not want to accommodate for an exception. I told them categorically that I would refuse to pay, and requested they call the local police to mediate the situation. I was completely unaware of this policy and felt I was being ripped off. Even if it was a written rule... The price was absolutely ridiculous. In the end... I did not pay, as they would not call either the owner or the local Municipal Police. We simply left... With Bad Feelings about a Nice Place.
