The beguiling usage of an English word in this businesses name leads clients to believe that there is some level of quality at this place. Gifted with an excellent location near the touristic historic center, beyond the Internet meter, just below 100 MB per second upload and download, any exceptionally low price there is a little more that is attractive to this establishment. Other positive attributes to this Hotel is the remarkably affordable cost. I stayed on the third floor, which had some amount of ventilation given the window that looks out to the central Plaza, just three streets away. Also, there was abundant hot water and the towels were clean. But let’s be totally honest, transparent and direct: the principle reason to stay here is the rock-bottom cost. How any business is charging $11/night is a miracle, really. And in a major Peruvian city, in the historic /tourist center. If you need somewhere cheap to stay, with internet—if you’re running from the law, or shacking up with a woman of the night; if you’re broke because you were pickpocketed, or washed ashore from a tsunami, or shipwrecked; if you were drugged and left for dead and can’t get a ticket home, this is your place. If your country elected a demagogue who crashed the economy and your life savings is garbage, this is your place. If you In spite of a few of the minimum requirements, I might wager to suggest that this is one of the most egregiously mismanaged hotels that I’ve stayed in the last two months of traveling through Latin America. There is so much potential, and with a modicum of care, attention and initial investment, this establishment could charge two times as much and be at constant capacity. The two young ladies who attend to customers, do little more than collect money, and I’m not even sure if they collect the correct amount of money. Compared to the handyman, in fact these young women are workaholics, as the handyman is either non-existent or grossly negligent.

For the short-comings, there is room to improve. However, for full omissions, I am less amicable: the shower curtain is beyond the imagination of the owners. The water falls on the floor, or it’s expected that your body functions as a barrier, in which case, I was a temporary employee of this hostal. The missing screen on the window introduced me to the fact that Trujillo has mosquitoes. Of course, a bedside lamp is too much to ask. Eventually I left Hospedaje Bless because I was more tired than I had arrived!
