This was an amazing property. John and his wife were the prefect host. Property was clean and very well maintained. We will stay there again when we visit next time.

Excellent property. Very peaceful. They graciously provided everything we needed for our 5 night stay. John and his wife were excellent hosts & extremely accommodating. They went over & above. Quality linens, fluffy towels, washcloths & very clean throughout cottage. They provided full size bar soap, ample toilet paper, paper towels, Keurig coffee pods, garbage bags, etc, plenty of hangers, fun games. They were not stingy in any way, shape or form. Great boat dock for our 17' boat. Quiet friendly neighbors on the canal. Rosemary made us a delicious cake one night. The best dessert we had on our trip was hers. Our dog loved the grassy fenced in little yard. We saw numerous manatees & birds. Would absolutely stay here again. Seafood Sellers, recommended by our hosts, had the best food. All fresh! We ate there several nights. Highly recommend.

Our stay was excellent in every way. The host was available if we needed him, but not intrusive in any way. The bed was comfortable, the A/C was not loud and neighbors were pleasant.

This cottage was lovely for a getaway for my spouse and me. It was impeccably clean and fresh-smelling, and exactly as it appeared in photos. The location is easily accessed and conveniently located near several good restaurants and a Publix store. We enjoyed sitting on the quiet canal-front deck in the evenings. The owners were quick to respond via texts and left us a sweet surprise: a plate of fresh homemade cookies. Thanks for a lovely stay…we’d be happy to return.

Looking for a place to relax and maybe fish during our downtime and this place was perfect.
The place was immaculate, the neighborhood was quiet, and the fish were biting! And as a nice surprise, John and his wife gave us homemade brownies and homemade dog biscuits for our puppy. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone that is looking to unwind.

John and Rosemary were great hosts and very helpful and friendly people. The house is only 20 minutes from the springs by boat.

Everything was perfect for our stay. Clean, quiet and just as described. Our boat was right at the doorstep. Easy trip to the fishing. Rosemary makes great brownies and John was helpful with info. We will stay again

We loved our stay there!! It was so cozy and being on the water was a plus. We just wanted to relax and couldn’t have picked a better place. And don’t get me started on the scrumptious brownies that John’s wife baked . They were the best. It was a very nice and delicious treat !!! Loved the towels. So nice and soft. Everything you needed was furnished. Didn’t need to buy anything but what you wanted to eat!!! And did I mention the brownies 🤩 Thank you for being such great hosts!!!

This cozy property was perfect for my husband and me! We enjoyed seeing manatee and otter, and fishing right out our patio door! Comfy bed! Beautiful sunrises over coffee on the patio. John and Rosemary were great hosts! Loved our conversations and the brownies! Would definitely recommend for a couple’s retreat!

Great spot, away from the busy city, and also not too far from site seeing (we rented a car). Morning coffee on the patio watching nature was my favourite part!

Very relaxing. Sitting on the back porch/deck watching fish jump and various species of birds was wonderful. At night, you have to watch the fish swim around the underwater light. Everything was as advertised. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming. The homemade treats were a tasty surprise. If we ever return to Homosassa we will definitely stay here. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

This little cottage gave us everything we were looking for plus. The location and view made for such a pleasant experience. We even enjoyed it thru Hurricane Nicole! We will definitely be back. Great Hosts were the icing on the cake!

The rental was exactly as described in the listing. It was clean and had everything we needed. I like being able to park close to the door and have everything on one floor. It was very relaxing and seemed as though we were far away but the rental is so close to everything, stores, attractions and restaurants. We had a great time and the host was great with communication. We loved it.

Perfect space for two of us and our pup! Our hosts went out of their way to make us to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We brought our 19ft center console, which fit perfectly at the dock right outside our back slider door. Though it was a tight fit, there was space to accommodate our boat trailer as well as our Ram 1500 on site. We will definitely be back as soon as possible!

Had a nice relaxing time in and around Homosassa. Spent mornings & evenings sitting outside watching for wildlife, saw turtles, manatees, dolphins, various birds & fish. John & his wife are wonderful hosts. Take a walk down to Margurita Grill, you won't be disappointed.

We cannot say enough about this wonderful place! The house is well appointed and very very clean ! We loved sitting in the outside patio right on the river ! So peaceful! Our dog loved being able to run about with the fenced in yard! It was truly ideal for a getaway !
The owners are so great! Very helpful ! The baked brownies they delivered were the best!

Everything was exactly as pictured and described in the listing. This location is close to the springs, very easy boat access getting in and out from home to river, and excellent cold air to escape the heat. The clean and tidy 1 bd, 1 bath, living room/kitchen also has covered porch with boat dock, fenced in back yard area, covered parking for vehicle, and screened porch separating owner's home and the rental apartment. There was plenty of space for myself, my husband and our dog. We had all we needed for a relaxing week stay in Homosassa. Thank you so much for sharing your home.

The hosts are super friendly, and accommodating. The moment I opened the door upon arrival, I could smell the cleanliness. It, indeed, was immaculate as described. After a day on the water in intense heat, it was so nice to come "home" to a cool, clean home and relax. This was a positive experience, and I have no hesitation recommending it. I would certainly stay here again.

this was one of the most relaxing trips. this place is quiet and peaceful. we kayaked straight from the attached dock. there are also steps to get down if you need and I did. i have never stayed in a VRBO and felt so safe. we usually did not even lock the door. the host were very accommodating John and Rosemary were the best. they live right next door so were available if we needed. I can’t say enough about this property. i recommend only for 2. there is a futon in the living room but i think that would be too much. we will be coming back.

They pointed us in the right direction to view an absolutely beautiful sunset one evening. The cottage is really well stocked with essentials and things that most places don’t have. The cottage is kept very neat and clean. Also, we were surprised one late evening with a plate full of delicious brownies. They were a really great treat. They also extended an offer for us to stay a couple of extra days because of a cancellation. They could have not offered and just had the cottage cleaned and waiting for the next guests. We will book again with John and Rosemary.

This cottage was everything it was advertised to be. It was perfect for the two of us to sit by the water and decompress on vacation. The property was very clean and so nicely decorated in the nature coast style. So much to do in the area, or just sit by the water and relax. The owners could not have been more welcoming and gave us our space to just enjoy the cottage, even though they are right next door, if we needed them. We highly recommend this property!

We can't say enough good things about the property and the owners. We had a great time relaxing on the porch overlooking the canal. Homosassa Springs is a short one mile kayak paddle from the property. We got to see lots of Manatees at the park and in the river. We even got to see Manatees in the canal one day. The property is very comfortable and peaceful. We highly recommend staying at this property and look forward to staying here again.

My husband and I had a fantastic time while staying at John and Rosemary’s cottage. We enjoyed our clean cottage with all the amenities we needed. Extra special treat was Rosemary’s delicious brownies! We enjoyed exploring the outdoor activities in an around the area. We could see manatees swimming from the cottage dock. John and Rosemary were excellent hosts. We will definitely be rebooking another stay at there cottage.

The Rod and Nod is a wonderful home, and a great location with lots of things todo. The house was spotless, well equipped kitchen, and lots of pantry items you may need if cooking. The back porch was a great place to sit, unwind and watch the manatees. Fenced yard was a nice surprise since we brought our pet. Would stay there again if revisiting that area of Florida.

Our host, next door, was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Had fun sitting on waters edge watching birds, turtles and jumping fish. Didn’t catch the “big one” but had fun throwing in our lines. Thourghly enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovely time at the cottage. Very quiet and relaxing. We found everything we needed. The space was clean and comfortable and we were entertained by the aquatic wildlife. We like to walk and found many walking trails in the area.

This little cottage is perfect for 2 people. The location is right in the heart of Homosassa Springs. John and Rose Mary were the perfect hosts and made sure everything was perfect. When we had some medical issues they even took care of our dog. I would highly recommend this cottage to any couples who would like to explore this area
