NOTHING BUT HEADACHES
Anything positive about this property is completely overshadowed by the disappointment and frustration it caused.
As our kids have gotten older, it has been more difficult to coordinate time to get everyone together on Christmas. This year, we decided to splurge and get a rental for the weekend prior. We wanted a property with a pool or game room for extra fun rather than just hanging out at home. We were very excited to find this property. 2 weeks prior to our stay, we were informed the pool heater was not working. We inquired about a refund, as the only reason we rented the property was for the pool. A week prior to our stay, the owner assured us the pool was fixed and would be functioning properly. Upon arrival on Friday evening, before even unloading our car, we checked the pool. It was not heated. We contacted the owner immediately. He informed us the repair man would be there in an hour and the pool would heat in two hours. The repair man arrived, did his thing and assured us it was fixed. We waited several hours. The pool did not heat. We contacted the owner again. The repair man arrived again and did his thing, for several hours this time, not leaving until after midnight. Again, we were assured the pool was fixed. When we woke up on Saturday, the pool still was not heating. We called the owner again. The repair man arrived again. We were assured the pool was fixed again. We waited. The pool was not heated until 10am Sunday morning, when everyone was packing up and leaving. While I appreciate that the pool issues were out of the owner's control and he made several attempts to fix the issue during our stay, we would never have rented the property or checked in and stayed at the property if we had not been assured repeatedly that the pool would be usable. I communicated my dissatisfaction to the management company beginning on Sunday and requested a fair and reasonable refund (50%), which, in my opinion, they should have offered without being asked given the magnitude of the issue.
