Ancient Tuscan style country house with a view of the Pisan Mountains
La Casa di Trecco e' un posto un po' magico..che sa adeguarsi alle tue esigenze di relax o di convivialità: immerso nel verde puoi ascoltare i suoni della natura, lo scorrere dell'acqua nel ruscello. Dal giardino, puoi contemplare lo splendido panorama dell' arcipelago toscano, ma altrettanto bello e' vivere la casa: appagare il palato e lo spirito davanti al fuoco scoppiettante nel camino, o fare il barbeque per cenare con gli amici, tirar tardi a giocare e conversare...
Lo spazio
E' una casa antica, il nucleo originario risale al 1200, ristrutturata mantenendo lo stile tipico delle case rurali toscane, i muri in pietra, i soffitti con i travicelli, i pavimenti in cotto. Si snoda su piu' livelli, L'ambiente e' caldo e molto intimo, l'arredamento e' curato ma semplice. E' la casa dove insieme alla mia famiglia abbiamo sempre trascorso le feste, e' funzionale, dotata di tutto cio' che serve, in cucina, nella sala da pranzo e nei bagni, ad eccezione di troppa tecnologia...
Accesso per gli ospiti
La casa e' tutta per voi e va vissuta: oltre alla propria camera ed al relativo bagno l'accesso e' consentito, anzi incoraggiato, nella parte giorno dove trascorrere momenti conviviali, in sala da pranzo, in sala attorno al caminetto, nella piccola cucina comunque perfettamente funzionante e nella bella sala lettura, nel sottotetto. Anche il giardino, strutturato a balze sul pendio e' utilizzabile non solo per godere del panorama ma anche per mangiare ed usufruire del barbeque.
Altre cose da tenere a mente
La casa e' adagiata sul pendio quindi vi sono scale interne per accedere ai vari ambienti (ampie e dotate di ringhiera) e anche scale in petra sia nel giardino sia per accedere alla casa da dove normalmente si lascia l'automobile.
A breve distanza c'e' un piccolo e caratteristico cimitero di campagna.

Serena, my VRBO host, communicated with me extremely well upon arrival. Given the location of the villa, she met me at a local store and escorted me to the property. The space was clean, and the property afforded beautiful views of the Pisan mountains. It was wonderful to hear birds, church bells, and the sound of a stream nearby while relaxing in the primary bedroom. Be mindful of the drive into the property when booking, which involves narrow and unpaved paths in certain sections. Overall, I enjoyed my stay!

What an amazing month long stay we had. From the very beginning our host Serena was responsive, caring, warm and most helpful. On our day of checkin she arranged to meet us in the local town to take us to this gem of a property and help us settle in.It is a beautiful country home nestled in the olive groves, with luxurious gardens, including a running stream, multiple patios with beautiful stone work and an outdoor grill. The views of the mountains above the groves of olives are outstanding. The numerous fruit trees, and kiwi vines immerse one in being in Tuscany.The home is spacious. We easily settled in and felt we were "home away from home". The beds are super comfortable, and the baths large and spacious by European standards. There is an abundantly supplied kitchen and dining area with sufficient items to host large gatherings and families. We enjoyed dining outside most days in the lovely spring weather, surrounded by the blooming fruit and olive trees, under blue skies and lovely sun, while serenaded by the running stream.The location in the mountains provided a quiet setting - no traffic noises! There is an amazing masseuse living in a nearby property which we delighted in more than once. We found a place to drop off the laundry and return the next day to pick it up, clean and nicely folded. We enjoyed local walks and day trips to the sea and inland within Tuscany which were easy and enjoyable.We look forward to returning to the serenity and romance!

The house is very spacious and outside spaces are great; fruit trees, breathtaking views, great walks. All of this for a great deal. Serena, the host has been great throughout the whole process. The restaurants nearby are of high quality, shopping not so close but while on holiday you can organise yourself. A car is necessary for all duties.
The seaside is a good drive away, we stayed in Torre del Lago free beaches and enjoyed it. Close to one hour away. Don’t waste time going towards Pisa for the sea, the beaches aren’t so great there.
Lovely restaurant 2 minutes walk.
Would definitely return. Highly recommended to this in need of space and nature. Only downside there was no washing machine, and the local automatic laundry is expensive (16€ for a small load) and needs a 10 minutes drive to get there.
So if you stay 2 weeks with a family of 6, it could be a bit of an issue.
