We really enjoyed our week at Villa Helios. It’s in a great location if you want to explore the north-east of Sardinia, with Porto Cervo and some fantastic boat trips along the east coast within easy reach. The villa itself is a great size for a family, with a well-equipped kitchen if you don’t feel like eating out every day. The pool was a real highlight for us — a lovely size and, particularly for families, the shallow end was perfect for our son. Being positioned on a hill also meant we had a lovely breeze throughout our stay, as well as a good sense of privacy. Overall, we had a lovely holiday and the villa has a lot going for it, especially its location, privacy, pool and family-friendly layout.

There were, however, a few things that took away from the experience. There are very few frills or personal touches when you arrive, and unfortunately we were charged a late check-in fee despite having kept in regular contact and providing evidence that our flight had been delayed by the airline. As the delay was completely outside of our control, this didn’t feel like a particularly welcoming start to the holiday. We also experienced quite a significant ant problem in the villa. We found ourselves constantly hoovering and making sure food and surfaces were kept spotless. The rubbish and recycling system was also quite complicated and difficult to understand, and when we needed help or clarification, we didn’t always find the communication or assistance particularly helpful.

das Haus war super, Ausstattung perfekt, war alles da was wir gebraucht haben. Pool war super. Anbindung (Auto) und Erreichbarkeit von Lebensmittelgeschäften war gut, nur wenige Minuten zu fahren. alle Räume waren klimatisiert. Garten ist groß und Grün. Trotz der ca 70-100 Meter entfernten Bundesstraße, die teilweise schon laut war, haben wir die 9 Tage sehr genossen.

ca. 70-100 Meter vom Haus (hinterm Haus) entfernt ist eine viel befahrene Straße, die man auch in der Nacht hört. Nachdem ich sehr ruhig wohne hat mich das etwas gestört. Fenster sind gut, es ist also nicht so laut, dass man nicht schlafen kann. Unter Tags auf der Terrasse hört man die Autos natürlich stärker. Pool war super. Lt Information sollte er jeden Tag gereinigt (gesaugt) werden, tatsächlich wurde einmal in der Woche gereinigt, was etwas zu wenig war.

Unser Aufenthalt in der Villa Helios war ausgezeichnet! Das moderne, gut ausgestattete Haus entsprach exakt den Fotos. Der grosse private Pool mit sanft abfallendem Boden ist perfekt für Kinder und Erwachsene, der Garten mit Grill lädt abends zum Entspannen ein. Budoni bietet einen schönen, flachen Sandstrand mit Bars und Restaurants. Kleinere Defekte wurden dank Alessandras schneller Organisation sofort repariert, und der Pool wurde regelmässig gepflegt. Die Lage am Ortsrand bietet viel Privatsphäre, etwas Verkehrslärm(Autobahn in der nähe) ist vorhanden, aber kaum störend. Alessandra war sehr freundlich, hat uns bei der Ankunft alles erklärt und stand jederzeit hilfsbereit zur Verfügung.

Die Unterkunft liegt etwas weiter vom Ortszentrum entfernt, und auch zum Strand läuft man etwa 15-20 Minuten. Auf der anderen Seite sorgt dies jedoch für viel Privatsphäre und Ruhe. Ausserdem gibt es auf Sardinien sehr strenge Mülltrennungsregeln (was für die Natur grossartig ist). Allerdings erfuhren wir erst bei der Ankunft, dass die Mülltonnen bei der Abreise komplett leer sein müssen. Durch die festen Abholtage (z. B. Papier nur mittwochs) ist es jedoch kaum möglich, alle Abfallarten am letzten Tag entsorgt zu bekommen. Falls man es nicht schafft, wird eine Gebühr berechnet. In unserem Fall musste ich daher vor dem Checkout noch 14 km fahren, um Müllsäcke zum nächsten Recyclinghof zu bringen. (Grund für 9/10 Punkte)
