I booked this property so we can go to a home away from home rather than a hotel as I have a toddler and having space and a kitchen is essential, we had family visiting this weekend and gave up our rooms so we could accommodate my in-laws' guests. Firstly after texting the owner I received a call from him to say the cleaning has been delayed and if we could check in at 2pm, 2:30pm at the latest. We were able to access the property at 3:40pm at the earliest which is when the property became available. I booked this place as it was checked in at 1pm which would then accommodate my son's naps and this is the only reason but instead he had to sleep in the car whilst we waited. If the check could not be honoured then we could have looked for another place. Upon entering the property there were no toilet roll, no WIFI and no TV. The owner's niece cleaned the property. She is not a professional cleaner, she was very nice and helpful and tried her best to help us, however the owner was putting her in the position of dealing with customers which was uncomfortable, as soon as we got in there was a disgusting smell like something was rotting or had died. When we investigated with the niece we found an old mug with lots of mold and cigarette which seems like it has been there for some time under the sink and stale bread. I was honestly so shocked and alarmed that the place has been left like this for a new booking. The bed sheets were also cressed and there was no manuals to use any of the amenities, we were waiting to hear back from the owner which was 17:14 who informed us there are issues with Talk Talk and this is a regular occurance and that we can use OUR OWN data to hotspot the smart TV. If this is so frequent then why not buy something that allows guests to plug and play? Not having WIFI is one thing but also not having a TV even with basic channels is unheard of and unacceptable.
