Portola Grand Arabia Hotel

We stayed before and after our visit to Pulua Weh - the location was great for the port & Tsunami museum. Our room was comfortable, the staff were friendly & we felt very safe.

I wasn't very keen on the breakfast and there was a lack of hot tea. Having said that there were lots of options for breakfast - it just wasn't for me.

The staff were very helpful . Food was acceptable but nothing notable. Some dishes were too salty The room is of very good size, and over looks a park. Probably could have had better maintenance

There is a big safety issue with the hotel. As you come out of the lift to go to the guest rooms there are different floor levels of about 30cm. There is no warning there is a step, as the step and floor tiles are all the same colour. Usually different coloured tiles or railing can indicate a step. One person in our group tripped and fell flat on his face . He had a back pack with him which helped cushioned his fall. Otherwise to would be a lot more damage to his head and arms. This not good for young children or senior citizens. The aircon in the room needs servicing Room service was very slow. When in the restaurant on ground floor asking for certain simple drinks, took along time because the drinks needed to be fetched from another restaurant.
