The location near to Abbeville was perfect for us after just travelling from Norfolk and through the tunnel as we aimed to travel the next day through France & then into Spain . The accomodation was comfortable and clean and we were located in probably what used to be the stables. The breakfast was very good and sufficient but expected it to be at £15 43 each.

We were dissapointed at the lack of atmosphere in the chateau itself although the surrounding grounds were lovely. Perhaps the staff booking us in could have been better equiped for booking in some-one other than French but we muddled through . Also cost of a glass of blended whisky at £10 a little bit extreme .

Beautifully renovated chateau - very stylish.

Unfortunately it seems to be more style than substance. We booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 children. The emails from the chateau beforehand listed 2 adults and 2 children but when we arrived (tired after a long drive) the children’s beds were not made. The chateau was understaffed so we were given the sheets and told to make the bed ourselves. We then discovered towels for the children hadn’t been provided but because there was no phone in the room we had to go into the main area of the chateau to hunt someone down to ask for towels. The staff were all very young and although polite they seemed inexperienced and were expected to act as reception / housekeeping / bar staff and restaurant servers all at the same time which clearly resulted in a poor service. If the chateau addresses this and improves its staffing and attention to detail then it could be a great place to stay
