The Himalayan Heaven Homestay, Binsar

The rural homestay deep into the forest, surrounded by oak and pine forests, offered nature's abundant beauty, fresh air, peace and tranquility. The hosts are very hospitable and try their best to make the stay comfortable. My expectation was to stay in a rural arrangement with local flavour without any luxury which was met very well. I was pleasantly surprised to see the hosts who have chosen to amidst nature and offer their home to travellers whereas most local people have migrated to urban sites in search of work. The hosts are enterprising and are trying their best to attract visitors to nature's lap, which is invaluable in today's fast paced life. Most importantly, my 12 years old son got an excellent exposure and experience of a Himalayan life in a forested habitation, which is precious and contrast to a metropolitan life.

There is nothing that I disliked. For those who may not prefer to walk from the road to the homestay, may find it difficult as the walk is about 1.5 kms in a hilly forested area. Personally, we enjoyed the walk and was accompanied by the hosts always.

The location and the food of this homestay is next level pure vegetarian food with organic spices and homemade food.

The rooms are clean, comfortable, and warm, with large windows that let you enjoy the surrounding forest and mountains. The food is simple, homely, and delicious, prepared with care and local flavors. The hosts are extremely welcoming and make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. One of the highlights of staying here is birdwatching and nature walks. With the guidance of experienced local guide Mr. Vipin Joshi, guests can explore the rich biodiversity of Binsar, spot rare Himalayan birds, and learn about the forest and wildlife.
