This ryokan is truly amazing. When getting off the cable car, you will be awestruck by the beautiful street it is on. You are greeted with warmth and a smile by the staff upon arriving, and given a tour of the facilities. The rooms are clean and offer a breathtaking view. We had a room with a toilet, however I will note that we used the "public" toilets too and everything was spotless. The chartered onsen is great if you're shy and a good opportunity to relax with your friends and family. The street it is on, unbeknownst to us, leads to Hosanji temple, which was well worth the visit and will possibly remain the highlight of our trip. There are a couple of restaurants on the street which are really good, too.

Nothing, it was perfect. Other tourists might find the location difficult to get to, though I found that to be a plus!

Literally everything was great. The location is top notch - on top of the hill in the midst of nature, the sunrises and sunsets are marvellous and we were following them from our window, the ladies managing the ryokan are friendly, hospitable and very respectful. The breakfast were very traditional and tasty. The nearby city of Ikoma is easy to get to (via cute cable car) and is very cozy with nice people. Choosing a place with private onsen was our best decision so far in our travels across Japan. Definitely, coming here again if we have the chance

The aunt and younger sister who run the place are so lovely. It's a ryokan that feels like home. The rooms give you the feeling of being in a traditional Japanese house. If you're looking for peace and a Japanese atmosphere, I highly recommend it. It's also conveniently located.

There aren't many restaurants around here. If you're looking for a restaurant, I recommend checking at Ikoma Station.

Located 1 minute from the cable car station, it is easy to find - the ryokan is very comfortable and the owner and staff are very welcoming. There are two onsen and although they are relatively small they are perfect for one or two people. Breakfast is traditional Japanese fare, very fresh, tasty and filling. The local temple is about 10 minutes uphill from the ryokan if temples are on your list of things to do, this is a must-see place, beautiful, peaceful, reverential and absent of the hoards of tourists at Nara or Fushimi Inari, or Miyajima.

Mid week, many of the nearby eateries are closed - but going back to Ikoma, there are plenty near the station.
