Umed Bhawan Palace, Kotah

It is massive and grand, with loads of open space.

I stay at this property twice a year. And this time the room provided on the first floor was a corridor room. Cleanliness is a major issue with outer space.

Room and facilities

Breakfast buffet could have been better. It had limited options . Restaurant service was just average.

The hotel is a part of the Kota Palace and it is very nice with courteous staff and spacious rooms and inside lawns. The rooms have an additional dressing area as well. The bathrooms are also big but lack an air dryer and other modern bathing space but that's fine...it's part of the old world charm.

The breakfast spread is very sparse. This aspect is certainly the hotel can look into. The other amenity lacking is a pool..much required in the sweltering heat.

Beautiful house, almost everything was perfect, except for one thing that dampened my enjoyment. I was planning to visit a nature reserve (valley with a waterfall) 40 km away. After inquiring beforehand, the reception confirmed that everything was accessible. Upon arrival, I was stopped at the entrance by forestry officials. They told me the access was closed. I had to accept it, so I had been given incorrect information. My only option was to return home. No apology or compensation from the hotel.
