Dian Hotel & Apartment

The room looked exactly like the photos, and we were pleasantly surprised by how large and spacious it was. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered lovely views of the city and even the sea! The bed was large and very comfortable, with a firmer mattress that we really liked. The bedding, pillows and mattress were all clean. We really appreciated the daily housekeeping: the towels were changed, the bins were emptied, fresh bottles of water were provided, and the staff even washed our dishes. The Wi-Fi worked very well and was reliable throughout our stay. The location was excellent, with plenty of good places to eat and the beach very close by. The water pressure was very good, and it was lovely to have plenty of hot water. Just be careful when adjusting the taps, as the water could get extremely hot, almost boiling, and we accidentally burned ourselves a few times. There were two air conditioners: one in the bedroom and one in the living area. Both worked very well. The bedroom unit had a remote control and could be adjusted easily. There was no remote for the kitchen area, but we could switch it on using the button on the unit itself. The bedroom is so spacious that a small sofa or a desk would be a lovely addition. We moved the kitchen table into the bedroom, next to the window, and it made a lovely place to work with a beautiful view. One member of staff at reception was especially friendly and helpful with the key cards. When we wanted to leave our laptops charging during the day, we left our card in the room’s power slot. He always kindly lent us a card for a moment so we could get back into our room, and we returned it to him straight afterwards. We really appreciated this.

On our last night, a very strong cooking smell came into the room. It seemed as though someone was frying food in another apartment and the smell was coming into ours. It was really quite intense. Thankfully, this only happened once, but if it happened regularly, we would be concerned about the smell getting into our clothes and belongings. We tried the extractor fan in our kitchen, but it seemed to only make noise without actually drawing any air out. We also noticed a sign on the wall at reception saying that cooking was not allowed in the apartments. This seemed a little strange, as the kitchen was equipped with a hob, a pot, a frying pan and other cooking utensils. We wondered whether the restriction might be related to the ventilation not removing cooking smells properly, although we do not know if that was the reason. We contacted the hotel before our stay to ask about early check-in, as we would be arriving after a 40-hour journey. We received a reply saying yes and that they were expecting us, so we understood that we would be able to check in early. However, when we arrived, nobody seemed to know about this, and we still had to wait over seven hours. Had we known, we would have booked the room from the previous night.that was exactly why we had contacted the hotel beforehand. There is a bar on the same street, visible from the window, where there is loud music and partying every evening and late into the night. We found it difficult to sleep without earplugs. The room was generally clean, but some areas still had a thick layer of dust, including the hairdryer, picture frames and the edge of the headboard. The curtains were also quite dirty and would benefit from a wash. A floor squeegee in the bathroom would be a helpful addition, as the whole floor gets wet when showering and takes quite a while to dry.

Everything was quite good! Also the staff were super nice and the location is perfect, 5-10 mins walking from the beach.

The room it’s not soundproof, I could hear any one walking in the corridor or the person on the next room

Staff was very helpful and friendly.

I asked for a quiet room and the room I was given was on street side with 2 very loud venues that played music until the early morning and one that played music into the next day almost every night. Never had a warm shower for the month I was there.
