Ottima posizione nel cuore di Ortigia, praticamente nella piazza del Duomo dove si diramano i bellissimi vicoletti. Accoglienza sublime dalla receptionist molto esaustiva con le informazioni, davvero gentile e disponibile. Ottima camera, pulita e bagno favoloso. Bello il servizio del frigo con acqua perennemente rifornito, essenziale con i 40 gradi del periodo.
La struttura ha un piccolo problema di gatti che abitano il palazzo. Con 40 gradi tra le bellissime scalinate del palazzo l'odore è piuttosto prepotente. Ma è davvero l'unica pecca.

This B&B situation right in the centre in a pedestrian zone is great, clean and has a perfect location.
Like many other old places, there seemed to be no lift. Nonetheless, the B&B is situated on the first floor, so no big deal.

The roof was precious and it far exceeded our expectations as the decoration was chosen to the single detail; and the bed was so comfortable.
On the top of that, Martina was an excellent host.
Even the location couldn’t been better and the breakfast was very good as well.

The location was perfect! Central location to wonderful restaurants, the beach and tourist attractions.
There was a slight cat urine smell when entering the building but that cannot be controlled by the host. All part of the experience.

The interior was very well renovated and well taken care of in fact the building was quite old.
"Friendly and helpful" is not enough to describe staff. Owner and the rest of the staff took care of us as we are family.
Breakfast was way over our expectations with vast variety of local boutique products, personalized eggs, daily fresh pastries and hand made cakes.

We had a blast in Siracusa with the help of a wonderful Maeco B&B! From the warm welcome to the immaculate rooms and delicious breakfasts, this place has it all. Plus, its central location puts you just steps away from all the city's top attractions. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Especial thanks to Martina for attending to all of our questions and requests!

Maeco is a beautiful B&B, furnished with great taste.
We appreciated the kind staff, the good breakfast and the free available bottled water.
Managing the entrance and the stairs with the luggage can get a bit difficult.

The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean
Very noisy location. Especially our room was overlooking a very busy part and it was impossible to open the window at night.
The walls were so thin that we could hear everybody coming in and out of the building.

Everything, friendly and helpful staff, plenty of breakfast options, located in th heart of the city, walking distance to all tourist attractions, shops etc. Gave me the real Italian feel.

The hotel could not have been in a better location. It is a beautiful hotel, very clean, staff is great and the breakfast was delicious. Another small bonus is that cold water was provided at all times. This was great in the hot Italian weather.
None of these items would AT ALL prevent us from staying in this hotel again but could be helpful to know. 1. You have to reserve your time for breakfast (i.e. 8:30 or 9:30). Not a huge deal but we would have preferred to not be on a schedule. To their credit. They let us come at an in between time our first day (9:00) and said we didn't need to the second day because they weren't busy. 2. There is a resident in another part of the building who lets their dog poop in the courtyard. (over and over again). The hotel staff, unfortunately for them, was very quick to clean it up and definitely annoyed by it but it did leave the courtyard smelling like dog poop most of the time.

The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were scrumptious but it would have been good to have some healthy cereal options.
It was a lovely touch to have complimentary water available throughout the day.

There aren't many times I would rate a vacation accomadation this high but Maeco Ortiga B & B deserves the highest ratings possible.

Cute little boutique hotel in the center of the historical center of Ortigia! What a vibrant and beautiful city!! We really enjoyed our stay here. Since you cannot drive in the historical center, the closest area where a taxi can drop you off is about a 5 minute (flat) walk from the hotel. Despite it’s ideal location, it was relatively quiet in our room. They allowed us to check in late as we were arriving by train after hours. Breakfast was provided and was very good. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The owner of the hotel and staff were very kind and welcoming and provided many recommendations for things to do, see, and eat. There is a lot to do and see and eat in Ortigia! We wished we could have stayed longer.
There are about 3 flights of stairs (no elevator) to get to the hotel entrance. As the hotel just occupies a small part of the building, and the outside is currently under construction, construction noise started promptly Monday morning at 8am. It was a bit difficult to find the front door, hidden under scaffolding.
