Quiet property on Beautiful secluded island

The restaurant was overrated. A number of items not available and replaced with poor options. Food over seasoned. However, breakfast was good.

Beautifully designed architecture and amazing location with stunning views.

1. Hotel is in a very windy location, and this hasn’t been considered in the design. For example, guests seated at breakfast had to constantly move to shelter in the corner away from the wind. The pool is also not sheltered from the wind which means it gets barely any use from guests. This should be an easy fix by building the walls higher to provide some shelter. There was also a sheltered courtyard used by the restaurant in the evening, it was very strange that this wasn’t available for breakfast given the winds. 2. The staff service was very slow, not particularly friendly and with mistakes you wouldn’t expect from a 5 star resort. For example, we ordered drinks while waiting for our transfer after checkout, after 30mins they hadn’t arrived and we went to check the bar - there was no one to be seen. After checking with a member of staff, the order had been put in wrong and hadn’t been picked up - we ended up cancelling the drinks and departing. 3. Room design - a focus on aesthetics and not practicality. The shower leaked into the room and is located right by the entrance door. The pool area and sun lounger isn’t private and can be seen by neighbouring rooms - this could be easily fixed by extending the terrace divider a small amount. You can also overhear every conversation from next door rooms.

The hotel is very nice, nothing to say, a nice experience staying there. The restaurant has good food and nice atmosphere.

The water in the pool from the room was not so clean and unfortunately the room was full of insects everywhere. The price I think is a little bit too high for what the hotel has to offer. Its more about aesthetics, than real luxury. But overal was a good experience.

Our actual room and views were incredible! We really enjoyed our massage at the spa and the gym facility was very clean. Folegrandos island is beautiful!!

We felt that our experience did not live up to the hype. It was extremely windy (the windiest part of the entire island). The wind made it so that we could not use the main pool during our entire stay and we found it hard to enjoy our private pool terrace. In addition, our private pool was FREEZING so we could not fully enjoy that amenity. The hotel did not seem designed to handle the windy conditions of the island. In addition, the concierge was not helpful out all in explaining how to get around the Island, what activities we could enjoy and seemed very stressed when we asked a bunch of questions. I think the hotel, since it is so isolated from the rest of the island, should offer more activities (i.e. live music evenings) at the actual resort and explain to guests how to get around the island effectively. Also, the service for food was mediocre / pool bar that they advertise was not really much of a thing as no one would serve us (the pool bar was empty for our entire 5 day stay). In addition, the food menu for lunch and dinner was the same, not making hotel meals that special. The actual restaurant has no views and is still outside, which meant it was barely protected from the wind. We really enjoyed Folegrandos and the idea of Gundari, but did not think the value for money was great.
