Close access to the beach and the kid loved the pool. Everyone was happy with location and accommodations. Friends that stopped by thought it was great as well.

My husband and I loved it here. Just the right size for the two of us. Very relaxing week. We love St. George and plan on staying here again.

Loved staying at Trout and the unit was as advertised. Easy walk across the street to the beach and we appreciated being able to have our dogs with us. Comfy stay and good value.

We had a great respite from Michigan March weather. We were close to the beach which I walked every day. Alan was a wonderful host, very responsive to our needs..

We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage! The beds were comfortable, the unit was very clean, and we loved sitting out on the front porch. It is just across the street from the beach! The kids enjoyed the pool even though it is March and I think it was cold. Kids are resilient! I would absolutely book this home again!

The property was very clean. It was very close to the beach. Owner was very responsive whenever we had and questions.

While building in the area, we needed a place to stay and visit the site and family. Trout is a great location and very peaceful. Excellent location for beach combing, running and biking. And...if you prefer to walk to the donut shop, it's about a mile away.

This is the second time we have stayed at this property and will do it again!

Fishing trip with cousin. Suited our needs very well. Would stay again.

Great stay

What a charming place and an amazing location. Across from the beach, a pool in the back. It was wonderful. The beach was dog friendly so Toes got to live his best life too. All the restaurants and stores are close by and pet friendly too. Highly recommend these cottages.

Great place in a great location

We have stayed on the island for 12 years. It is the only beach my boys know. We have stayed at the Trout a handful of times. We have always enjoyed our stay. All I will say is this, if a property has two king beds and a sleeper sofa, expect six people to sleep there because there is room. However, if the two extra people are four years old and 5 months old, don’t bless out their father in front of them because he brought too many people to stay at the property. We could say lots more, but we have more class than the owner.

We had a wonderful trip! Thank you so much to Allan for setting us up! St George Island is a really cool place, and this property is SOO close to the beach. We were able to bring our dog along for her first beach trip as well as our 9 & 6 y/o girls. This listing is 1 unit of a 3 unit property, so you could potentially have your whole group stay at this property and all have their own condos, but we shared the pool, walkway and driveway. It was definitely private enough for our family, and I could also see the benefit of staying with a larger group across all 3 units! The pool is in need of some repairs and newer furniture and some lighting for after dark, but it worked for our family. We also noticed that at least one of the dining chairs had a furniture tack or something that was long enough to poke through the seat; we let Allan know so that should be repaired for the next visitor. And one final note on the property - the listing says the rental comes with pantry items, but that was not the case for us. There was no spice rack (salt/pepper), or coffee/sugar, etc. You get 2 trashbags, 2 rolls of paper towels, I think 2 rolls of TP, 1 load's worth of laundry detergent, and a handful of bars of soap for handwashing. You'll definitely need more trashbags, and probably more TP. We didn't need to buy paper towels though. We've probably been spoiled at other VRBOs in other beach cities where the cleaning staff leave that kind of thing for the next visitor bc only receiving those startup supplies seemed standard for the island. BUT there are 2 grocery stores on the island that have decent prices and Sparks & Sons has FREE coffee ;-). There is a lot to do on the island too, and the dog was welcome almost everywhere! You can rent anything you need - bikes, kayaks/paddleboards, tents, golf carts. There's also a neat state park with beaches and hiking trails on the island, and the Bay is about 2 blocks behind the house (wear bug spray - the mosquitos are insane!). One of our favorite things about this visit was the wildlife. Lots of good bird watching! Also saw dolphins, crabs, turtle nests, little lizards, and a bat! We went just across the bridge to ANERR, listened to a Turtle Talk (so cool!), and then got to walk through a little mini aquarium. This was free!; I wish we had spent more time here bc we didn't get to see everything! Another indoor activity was Art of Glass (make & take art class) - we all loved it!

We had the 1st floor "cottage" and it was a pretty little space. I especially loved the screened porch where I had my morning coffee. Beautifully decorated and we had everything we needed, except the use of one of the beds as the previous guests had broken the bed frame, so we used a couple air mattresses. The owner communicated with us and compensated us for the loss so everything was good. Property is for sale right now. Also the ad says the beach access is steps away, but a new house was build across the street that blocks the beach view and previous access now. So we only had to walk a few more steps to the beach access, not a problem. The owner has plenty of beach chairs, mats and even a kayak for guests to use. The pool is clean and just what we needed after a hot day on the beach. We enjoyed the company of the other guests in the cottage above us. They had young children so it sounded like a heard of elephants above us, but it didn't bother us. Our Sister's Trip was perfect. Thank you.

Wouldn't change a thing. Perfect!

The neighbors above us very noisy, plus very loud outside with construction. No sleeping in construction started at 8 am heavy hammering in foundation piers.

Was a nice stay, close to beach. Home had nice decor and was a very comfortable stay.
