The Phenix is actually a great refuge in downtown Bangor. The hotel is utilizing and adding life to this downtown section of the city and done so with a sensitivity to style and community.

I made another error in interpreting where to store my luggage. Being this is a remote check-in facility, it took a call and several minutes to recover my stored luggage. I also got nervous about our code access to the building. But this was also resolved by the resident staff member.

Great location, clean, nicely decorated.

If this was posted somewhere, I didn’t see it, but this room may be haunted. I didn’t have any problems but my wife didn’t get any sleep. We only learned about the apparently known haunted status from doing research afterwards.

Great to have the coffee shop downstairs.

The unit was very overpriced for its size. Other Phenix properties offer more space and comfort for the price and we felt ripped off by the charge for the two rooms (which were actually smaller than the other room we rented).
