Pretty Location, comfortable huts,

Perhaps some basic instruction notes - it took a little while to understand how to get the gas fridge started.

I loved everything about my stay. The location was beautiful, the yurt was better than I imagined.

The only negative is the property sign is small and I missed it at first

Down by the lake, where the shepherds huts are, is beautiful and very quiet Being in amongst the trees did feel connected to nature The yurt was spacious enough for 2 There were plenty of blankets We didn't mind being a drive away from things to do (the road into Holt is quite fast to walk/cycle for everyone) (We eventually found out) there were plenty of large logs available for the the wood burning stoves Steve who (eventually) came to sort some issues was helpful and friendly (Once we could light a fire) the yurt was cosy

Facilities and communication were lacking compared with other glamping sites. There is no fridge. A coolbox is provided, but with no ice packs. Some of our food went off. No kindling and just 1 firelighter was provided. An empty bottle of washing up liquid was provided. One of the gas burners did not work. We asked for these to be addressed when we arrived on our first night. There was no reply until afternoon the next day, when we were told it was too late to do anything, and help would come in the morning. So, we had 2 nights without a fire and it was cold, not able to properly cook/wash up. Once Steve came, things were sorted, but it had already taken most of our trip, and it was a shame about the communication. The yurts are on the same level as and close to a noisy road. There is a lot of road noise all through the night. The bed in the yurt was very uncomfortable. There is no curtain on the door, which faces the main road in the site directly. So privacy was poor, and more yurts are being built close together. Also this placement of the yurt meant sunrise directly into the yurt - not ideal after a bad night's sleep. Finishing touches were missing that would have made the experience feel more like glamping and worth the money. For example, light switches by the bed, not high on the walls; sensor lights being lined up so they actually turned on when you actually stepped into the kitchen on the deck, and didn't turn off when you were cooking; actually sharp knives in the kitchen; the shower pipes being fully connected not wobbly. No instructions were provided e.g. for the stove, how things worked in the yurt, that there was a charging port for phones, where to get more wood. We only got info about this when Steve arrived on our 3rd day. The cost of the yurt was too much for the experience.
