This stay was one of the highlights of our NZ north island trip. Small in size but big on delivering a unique stay. The view of Mount Taranaki from the property was amazing. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset then sat beside a fire (wood supplied by the host for a small fee) under a blanket of stars. The tiny home had everything for a very comfortable stay. Our host went above and beyond and made sure we had everything we needed even providing fresh eggs.
Can't fault this stay. Loved it!!

Very friendly host. Amazing views of Mt Taranaki. Surprisingly spacious inside and very well equipped given its size. Everything worked well. Lots of nice touches too. Easy location for exploring the wider area.
Could have been slightly cleaner.

Very quiet apart from the nature sounds. Beautiful calm and grounding. We even heard frogs croaking.
We didn’t love that the other hut could look into the front of our hut - a tiny bit more privacy when sitting outside would make it even better.

Location in a paddock. Space from the next cabin. Supplies inside. Shower and bed.
Due to the weather the cabin was drafty and noisy. The door didn't seal and the only seat faced the draft beside the door. Something rattled and banged all night right by our heads, the wind was high and the cabin shook like an earthquake. It was so cold the heat pump stopped working while the outside defrosted. When we arrived the temperature was set to 30 which we thought excessive - until we realised the pump would stop and also battle the drafty door. So, not a great choice on a winter night, but, in summer, that would be different.
