We are an Italo-Danish couple staying at the “Monastero del Palazzo” for 12 days taking advantage of its strategic position for visiting the city of Spoleto as well as the surrounding either by a nice walk up to the basilica of San Salvatore and San Ponziano or by easily driving in/out the city. The apartment is extremely cozy, giving an immediate feeling of “welcome home”. It is super clean and functional with everything one needs for short or long stay combining modern utilities and old wood forniture in perfect style to match the overall historic residence. The balcony is the gem of the apartment offering a resting place with an amazing view of the old town. An aperitive (or dinner) on the balcony during the sun set is highly recommended ! Last but not least, Lisa has been more than a perfect host! Lisa and her kind husband, Andrea, welcomed us with a genuine warm smile and sincere “ben venuto” (i.e. welcome) when we arrived. Lisa, thank you, for all the tips on what to do and where to go, including making us participating to a concert at Casa Menotti, as well as for promptly responding to any of our needs. We loved our stay at the Monastero del Palazzo and strongly recommend it !

We had a delightful stay. Lisa was a very kind host and always answered questions before and during the stay quickly. The apartment was spotless and well-equipped with everything we needed. The location is perfect - in the lower part of Spoleto so no issues with ZTL and parking was very easy to find, but just a few minutes' walk from the escalators that bring you to the upper town where most sights are.

Everything you need for as long as you need to stay. Very clean, centrally located, nice views to the town. Lisa is an extremely accommodating host. There is a nicely equipped kitchen, washing machine which we had to use as we were on the road for a while. Safe, iron, air con.

Nothing that I can think of

Location superb . Flat cool and clean and homely. Building beautiful. Super helpful host. Lots of information was provided. Any problems were sorted straight away. The location was in the heart of real Italian life which was lovely without too touristy like, say, Assisi. The vaporetto event was great fun.

The veranda was south facing and small. We were unable to utilise it in the day during midday sun where we wanted to be outside but in shade on the rest days we had. The chairs were not comfortable enough to relax outside. It’s more suitable for short stays than longer. Spoleto going through a lot of reconstruction work so lots of cranes on skyline and many shops permanently closed.
