The owner provided us with an alternative accommodation about 2km away from the original booking without any prior notice.. I was informed of this change while I was on the train to Chennai to arrive at the original accommodation.. I was sent a notice about water logging on 8th October in the apartment originally booked. I think this was an after thought on the owner's part to cover their fault. otherwise, why should I get a message on the day when I had completed my trip and was on my way back. The alternate accommodation was not the best. It lacked basic amenities for a serviced apartment. There were two rooms and we were requested to use just one room which we did. Our original booking included a one bedroom serviced apartment/flat accommodation with a double bed and a sofa bed. In the alternative provided , one of us had to sleep on the floor on a three piece folding mattress. There was a shower in the bathroom whose handle was broken. We were asked by the caretaker to press and hold it in place to get water into the bucket. The kitchen did not have a single tea spoon, fork or a table spoon, or a pair of scissors or a knife of any description. There were a few steel glasses and a couple of big spoons, pots and pans. The kitchen was very poorly equipped. When I complained to the owner, he insisted that they were in the drawers in the kitchen. I had to send photographs taken on my mobile to show him that his claim was false. The drinking water dispenser did not have any drinking water. When requested on arrival, the care taker put a half filled bottle of water on the dispenser. It leaked the water overnight and we did not have drinking water the next morning. . we did not get any drinking water even after 24 hours of our stay. All in all, the unexpected alternative accommidation offered was not something I would have opted for.. It was a very inferior alternative with poor facilities. I request Booking.
