Well placed for our holiday close to the town

The house was clean, with plenty of room for the five of us, close to the town and harbour. Whitby is a lovely place to visit, with plenty of shops down old cobbled streets and alleyways.

A hand towel each would have been good, and a welcome book, with information on the heating and other appliances in the property would be helpful for future holidaymakers.

Location was great, with ample parking space. Very quiet on an evening.

We had a slug mooching around the kitchen from under the dish washer (which was removed out of the property by us), and significant amounts of cobwebs & dust, in particular, curtains and ceilings in the bedroom. Unfortunately, this let the whole experience down. I would recommend a thorough clean of the areas identified. Although the location is great, it should be noted that the shared access, is very steep and has various slip trip and fall risks, its very narrow at the top for vehicles to negotiate, but on and evening, there's no lighting on the ramped section. Building flood lighting does comes on when at the very top, but it feels unsafe in our opinion, so as a precaution take a torch or use your phone light when coming back in dark hours. The gradient would be unsuitable for guests whom rely on a manual wheelchair.
