Great flat, clean and comfortable. A home from home

Clean, spacious, well equipped and central to all Morecambe had to offer.

The penthouse had everything we needed, a powerful shower, pots, pans and oven trays for cooking, tea and coffee and 2 tvs both connected to the Internet was a bonus since I forgot my Bluetooth speaker so me and my fiance could still listen to music on YouTube while we played cards in the evening

Some other guests contacted the property owner complaining about the noise we were making and the owner sent me a text at 23:00 telling me of the complaints and that he told the other guests to call the police if they wanted. We hadn't been in for 5 hours and had literally just got in ( not even been drinking so not drunk at all ) so it wasn't us making any noise. I told the owner this in my reply to his text but got no response or apology. This angered me and put a real downer on the evening

The hosts were very friendly and provided plenty of information. The flat we were in was a good size, with quite chic decor and generally very clean (the fridge in particular was spotless).

The view from the bedroom was unbelievably horrible. The flats are in an old-style terrace, backing on to more of the same, so you look out over a load of back yards - most of which are untidy at best, and the one opposite is a junkyard full of rubbish (including a couple of scrap cars). The one next door contains a mountain of broken up wooden pallets. The area feels rough enough from the street (I didn't feel safe walking to the nearby corner shop at night, and we were worried about our car) but the view to the rear really does make you wonder what you've let yourself in for. We couldn't get the heating to work (turn the digital dial to set the temperature, it says yes then nothing happens). One of the kitchen cupboards had some extremely rotten vegetables in it. There doesn't seem to be any noise insulation at all - we were treated to the sound of people moving around upstairs/downstairs, going to the toilet in the night, opening and closing doors etc, all of which was so loud it was like it was in our own flat. And we were kept awake by a constant beeping from the stairwell which sounded like a smoke alarm asking for a new battery - unbelievably, this was actually louder in our bedroom than in the stairwell itself.
