The refuge lives up to its name; a quiet cozy spot to retreat and recharge. We loved the ponies, big shady trees, and proximity to Assateague.
Our room was comfortable and clean; we had a mini fridge and a dehumidifier (critical in this region). I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel with daily housekeeping and where everything simply worked.

Great place with a quiet but convenient location for biking and beach access. Only downside is the breakfast, which is delivered in a bag and contains the type of soggy stuff found in your local 7-11 ... but there is a McDonalds next door for better choices.
