Bailey Ground Lodge

Beautiful location with sea views, this property was comfortable, with every amenity that you would need, except for staff. The property is unmanned except for a lovely cleaner. The main property is quite a walk, and that property is staffed. If you’re after a self serve kind of place, that is comfortable and beautiful right on the ocean, this is perfect. I would stay here again.

I stayed in found floor room. Looked tired and is need of decorating. Shower was adequate-plenty of hot water but not very powerful. Windows needed cleaning. Room on whole was clean although stain on duvet cover. Bed comfy. Not staff at hotel so you had to phone through to another hotel for assistance. No food available and a list of take away places for breakfast.

He been to the BGL twice in the last month and have enjoyed both stays. First hotel I’ve been to that has no reception or staff in general, with keys and information left on a table on the way in. No matter though, I’m there to sleep and shower and that’s about it! It’s situated right on the beach which gives you the most incredible view out of the window and it’s close to local pubs and a few other conveniences. More importantly, it’s in an amazing place to head in to Wasdale - other than Gosforth, or staying in Wasdale itself (good luck!) it’s the best place for access, just 25 minutes away mostly along the shore of Wast Water. Would happily stay here again.

Had a great experience at the hotel . Couldn’t fault it in anyway . I would highly recommend this place .
