Columba Hotel Inverness by Compass Hospitality

No hot water in the morning. Everything else was okay but one of the two rooms I reserved also smelled heavily of mildew.

The evening and Saturday staff were wonderful. Very pleasant, friendly and funny. When we arrived Friday morning, the young woman didn't seem happy to be working, so that is why I didn't give staff a 5, she was a bit negative and seemed to be put off by any questions we had. She also didn't ask if we needed anywhere safe to store our computers, where as the evening and Saturday staff asked us without me inquiring. The room was nice with a wonderful view, it was just old and a little run down. I would have liked the room to be a little better up kept. The breakfast was great, very delicious and had a great variety. The only down fall was one person supporting resupplying anyting the breakfast area had to offer, food, coffee, water, ect. We did not go into the bar.

The reason I gave this place a 5 star is because their staff was really amazing. I accidentally booked a week later than what I wanted and showed up to the hotel with no booking for that day. They got me to rebook and refunded me for the original booking even though they have a no refunds policy. Very kind of them to do that.
