Jewel Lake Bed and Breakfast

The place was adequate for 2 nights in Anchorage. Our room was in the basement. There’s a window so we had natural light. No AC but a fan in the window. The room was very clean. The bathroom was unusual with a step going to the toilet and shower. Made for a little uneasy feeling since I get up during the night. The kitchen was stocked. It’s a bed and breakfast but a serve yourself breakfast. It’s in a very good location for the train and airport. The owner was in contact with me several time to be sure we had everything we needed for our stay.

Super convenient and well thought out place but none of the outlets or chargers in our room worked. We had to use the common areas to charge the phones. We were in the basement, which I was grateful for since it was hot and there’s no a/c- -totally normal for Alaska- but lots of noise of people walking around upstairs. I’ve been in other rooms here before and had a better experience. It’s a great “budget friendly” option and was convenient to Kincaid park which we needed but next time, I’ll probably look elsewhere.
