An absolute gem of a hotel right in the heart of the "old town" area near Kloof Street. Beautiful colonial style design with fantastic local artwork throughout, amazing (cool) pool, honesty bar, secure on street parking (security watchmen at all times) and the most amazing helpful staff I've ever had at a hotel - emails and information on things to do, restaurants etc was outstanding. A really brilliant hotel in every way!

I can’t recommend this hotel enough! Beautiful rooms and property in a charming neighbourhood. Staff were so attentive and friendly. Breakfast was top notch. Would definitely stay here again if I ever come back to Cape Town!

We returned to Derwent House after 10 years and were delighted about our stay here again. Staff is extremely helpful and personable. Breakfast is delicious, and we slept well.
