The hotel was perfect. The staff was perfect. The location is like 100 steps from the beach.
The public portion of the beach is very small, maybe 18 meters wide and 40 meters from water to buildings. I assume if you pay, you can enjoy the privatized position of the beach, which is like 90% of it. My point being, if you want to swim and lounge, do more specific research than I did.
The bus runs often that takes you up and down the coast. Even though it wasn’t the busiest time in Portofino, the bus was PACKED. Taxis are available for a few euros more (~10-20) also.
None of the challenges are the fault of the Hotel Argentina though, they are amazing and the property is wonderful!
