Baker House Hotel

The staff make this place shine, even more than the ambiance (which is clearly a rightful draw). They make a heartfelt effort to make this a good experience for everyone.

Nice experience

The property itself was beautiful and so was the room. It was unique, and it felt like I was stepping into a luxury 1800s suite. However, since this is such an old building, you can hear everything from the upstairs. On both mornings that we stayed, we heard every single footstep from the person living upstairs starting at 7am to 8am, until they left. There was no noise insulation, and it was really unfortunate to be woken up every morning because of the very, very thin walls and ceilings. Also, make sure to turn the dial on the wall *off* otherwise music will start playing starting at 8am. We weren’t aware of this and therefore were awoken again at 8am by music. Also your stay may irritate your allergies if you are allergic to dust. But aside from that, the complimentary breakfast was very delicious, the included Sunday brunch was delicious, and the rooms and the house itself was gorgeous. Everyone was also very nice.

Definitely a place to stay. The house is absolutely beautiful. The staff was great. It's a must to have dinner and breakfast there. We will be back.
