Great place, beautiful location! Make no mistake, this isn't a 5-star hotel, it's an open air kind of place with no AC but beds have mosquito netting and we were completely comfortable. Gorgeous viewing deck for hanging out with a beer or a book. Community kitchen that we didn't take advantage of, but many people did and it seemed well equipped.
Having a car made it easier to get to but it's not 100% necessary. Great little wine bar just down the road.
