This hotel was wonderful for our Munich stay. Literally steps from the Munich Ost train station it couldn't have been more convenient when arriving by train and leaving to the airport by S8.
Clean, quiet, modern with friendly staff.
Neighborhood has many great restaurants within walking distance. And they will sell you a public transport day pass ticket at the front desk for the tram that stops at the front door.

The MOMA1890 Boutique Hotel is a little hidden, but it is conveniently located just across from the Ostbanhof train station. The buffet breakfast was expensive (20 Euros), and the elevator was tiny, but the room was comfortable and relatively quiet, and the staff very helpful. Recommended as a convenient 3 star option.

Fantastic hotel. One of the best we’ve come across in Germany. Spacious, clean and comfortable room, with a good shower too!
Hotel has a lounge with free snacks and drinks too. Staff were very friendly.
Location is obviously at a main train station so all sorts of people around but didn’t feel unsafe and was very convenient to get trams and trains to major attractions. Also has good shops and food around the hotel.
Would have loved some English language entertainment channels on the tv.

MOMA 1890 is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. It is modern but with an old world charm. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. It’s nice to have the lounge area where there are drinks and snacks. Alcoholic beverages are by the honor system—put your name in the box with what you had to drink. And much cheaper than going to a bar and more comfortable. The breakfast is great! The hotel is right next to the Munich east train station where you can get trains to anywhere. The train to the airport takes about 22 minutes and is very cheap. There are parks around the area where you can stroll.
