The dinner was the best we've had in Japan. The staff were amazing, all spoke English and were friendlyand helpful, we only stayed one night and wish we stayed longer.

Very traditional Ryokan experience, with the Tatami floors and Kaiseki meals.
Staff is very attentive.
This is not a traditional "luxury resort" (don't expect service and standards of a four seasons or ritz carlton hotel). Rooms felt a bit antiquated, but I think this added to the charm of the hotel as it positions itself as a place to have a more traditional Japanese experience.
It is about a 10-minute drive from the main town on the island, so it is a bit out of the way. If you want to be close to the action / shrines on the island, this probably isn't the hotel for you. If you want something super quiet and private, this is a good fit.

Everything was just perfect in the Hotel. It has great Japanese dinner and breakfast. Shuttle bus has great schedule, so you can see Torii Gate after sunset. It was like you really were a guest of the Japanese family.
