Our stay at Hotel Alcatraz was very nice. It was clean, hospitable and comfy. Maria, the owner was easy to communicate with. The patio and kitchen area were enchanting.

This is a cute boutique hotel. The staff are so lovely, friendly and helpful. The rooms are huge . However, it does need a facelift, it’s quite dated. It worked for me because I wasn’t trying to be near the touristy/Malecon area but if you are, you need a car. It’s quite a ways out and there are no restaurants nearby.

Many of the advertised amenities are not available. Most important: no restaurant and no bar. We chose this property so that we would not have to leave in order to eat. The listing needs to be updated.
Room 5 has a gigantic bathroom with a door, but an open partial wall made of cubes and no separate light for the bathroom. Very odd.
