We were struggling to find a hotel on our way to the Badlands because everything was already booked. We came across My Place Hotel in Mitchell, South Dakota, on Expedia and decided to give it a try. It ended up being a hidden gem.
The price was very affordable for a Saturday night, especially compared to other nearby hotels that were already sold out. We stayed in a king room, and everything felt new, clean, and well maintained.
One of the standout features was the nearly full kitchen setup, which included a full-size refrigerator and freezer, sink, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and stovetop. The bed was comfortable, and I especially appreciated that it came with two blankets, which is surprisingly rare. The pillows were comfortable as well, and our third-floor end room was very quiet.
The hotel also offers ample parking and is conveniently located. Check-in and check-out were both quick and easy, and the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.
Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend My Place Hotel in Mitchell to anyone traveling through the area.

Nice hotel. Was pretty noisy. Could hear the neighbors pretty easily.

Good stop for us traveling along I-90 with our dog. Friendly, clean, quiet, safe.
