Mood Matuna Hotel Cartagena

María and Daniel at the front desk were very helpful throught our stay. My husband ordered room service and fell in love with the chef's food. Would recommend.

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) I stayed in the Deluxe Junior Suite at Mood Matuna Hotel and overall had a very good experience. The room was very spacious, and the tub really complemented the room and gave it a nice relaxing feel. When I first arrived, I opened the shades and noticed the window was cracked. I informed the front desk, and they immediately moved me to another room without any hassle. The service throughout my stay was excellent, and the complimentary breakfast was fairly decent. The hotel also has a functional gym, which was a nice bonus if you want to get a quick workout in during your stay. One thing to keep in mind is that the hotel is located on a busy street, so there can be traffic noise outside at night. That said, the building itself was quiet. One minor inconvenience was that the hotel didn’t provide shower rags (washcloths), so keep that in mind if that’s something you prefer to use. Side note: The hotel has a pretty strict guest policy. If you plan on having a guest visit during your stay, make sure they’re registered before you check in to avoid any issues. Overall, I think the hotel offers decent value for the price. Between the spacious room, good service, functional amenities, and convenient location, I’d definitely consider staying here for a short stay.

The location is perfect. You’re right between everything. No need for an Uber or taxi to go anywhere. Room was clean, smelled nice, staff was polite even though we speak very little Spanish. Air Conditioning is outstanding. The only slight issues are there’s no refrigerator and the “pool” is more like a soaking tub. It appears the one on the other aide is larger and what’s seen in most of the photos. It wasn’t a huge issue. We only used it a few times. A couple chairs to sit outside on the balcony would also be a great addition.

Pros: Clean room, I didn’t find it to be too loud, walked into my room with the AC already running and it was nice and cold, Nice Smart TV and Wifi, Balcony, overall friendly staff Cons: YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE GUEST with a 2 person reservation , You cant pay to switch or have extra guest they dont tell you this until AFTER you’ve paid. No Microwave, Fridge, or iron in the standard room. Elevator only goes up to 5th floor so try to get a room on floors 1-5. Breakfast is not free and I never received my free bottle of wine. The shower was mediocre lights were too dim for my liking and the shower head was busted Overall its a clean hotel and is walking distance from many things. It is located in not the “nicest” neighborhood. Shoutout to Orlando he’s cool!
