La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Johnston

We were close to the families we were up in Iowa to visit.

Pretty spendy for rooms. I pre-booked 6+ weeks ahead and thought I was paying $150/night. It ended up being just under $200.00/night. Was it because it was a State Fair weekend? Was it because hotels can’t be up front about the various taxes? It’s not my job to figure that out. The hotel has nice amenities (pool & weight room & simple fare for breakfast) but really, I don’t feel our room was worth the amount we paid. Also, the staff appeared to be flustered at times. Not sure why, but some lacked the genuineness and warmth of a well-trained professional hospitality staff, which some areas of DSM are known for. That also is telling about the efficiency of a hotel. Chances are slim we will stay at this hotel again.

Was clean and everyone was super nice

Nothing

Very clean, comfortable beds, friendly staff, dogs allowed.

Breakfast was decent, we can’t complain too much. A lot of dog areas right by hotel and food. Super nice location.

Front desk worker; Terrible . Also charged me a random amount when I left. Also receipts weren’t ever sent to me every time I asked.
